Places our guests ask about most

WHEN TO VISIT (SEASONS)

Spring

75-85°F

Festivals & crowds

April and May are, in our opinion, the island's best-kept secret. Spring Break clears out, the weather is perfect — warm but not sweltering, low humidity, virtually no rain — and you have the beach to yourself. The Gulf is just starting to warm up, sea turtle nesting season begins in April, and the island feels like it exhales.

Summer

85-95°F

Peak families

This is when the island is in full swing. The water is at its best — warm, clear, and active with marine life. Beach Waterpark is open, every activity is running, and the energy is constant.

Fall

75-85°F

Perfect weather

The Gulf water is actually warmer in October than in June — most people do not know this. Fall is peak sea turtle hatching season, with releases happening regularly through October. September brings the Tacos & Tequila Festival and some of the best fishing of the year.

Winter

60-75°F

Peaceful & quiet

Winter here is nothing like winter anywhere else. Cold fronts move through and can drop temperatures dramatically for a day or two, then pass and the sun returns immediately. Restaurants that feel tourist-facing in summer feel deeply local in winter. Hotel prices are at their lowest of the year.
